01 ERP core
Enterprise processes do not run in isolation.
Orders, stock, invoices and ledger postings share one data model and one posting engine. A change in one place is visible everywhere else that depends on it.
Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
Finance, supply chain and operations share one data model and one posting engine. Scroll through the story, explore the modules, then follow a single sales order from entry to Power BI.
The ERP story
Scroll to watch the system come together: the core, the applications around it, a transaction moving through them, and the layer Codefine works on.
01 ERP core
Orders, stock, invoices and ledger postings share one data model and one posting engine. A change in one place is visible everywhere else that depends on it.
02 Connected applications
Finance, human resources, supply chain, warehouse, sales, procurement, manufacturing and project accounting run in Dynamics 365. Power BI reads the data, and integrations connect everything outside it. Organisations combine Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations or Human Resources with Power Platform and Azure according to their needs and licensing.
03 Transaction starts
A sales order is keyed in or arrives through an API, an EDI flow or a data entity import. Prices, discounts and the credit limit are checked before anything moves.
04 Operational execution
Stock is reserved, picking work is created for the warehouse, the load is ship confirmed and the order is invoiced. Each step updates inventory transactions and can raise business events for other systems.
05 Finance and analytics
Posting profiles turn the invoice into a voucher with financial dimensions. The same tables are exported to a data lake or Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI reports sales, margin and receivables from them.
06 Codefine value layer
The process only works as well as the architecture, configuration, code and data paths underneath it. That is the layer we work on.
"Finance & Operations" is the family name for several Dynamics 365 applications — Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations and Human Resources — licensed separately. Organisations combine them with Power Platform, Power BI and Azure (X++ extensions, data entities, APIs and business events) according to their needs and licensing model.
Process showcase
See how finance, warehouse, procurement, HR, manufacturing and analytics processes move through connected Dynamics 365 applications.
Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
What this shows. This scene shows how an item moves from goods receipt to put-away, picking, packing and shipment.
Inbound goods are received at the dock and put away to rack locations. Released orders create picking work; goods are picked, packed at the packing station and loaded on the outbound truck.
Codefine helps with
Location directives, work templates, wave design, mobile app flows and wave-processing performance.
Dynamics 365 Human Resources
What this shows. This scene shows how employee, position and leave approval data connects across HR workflows.
A new worker is hired and assigned to a position in the organisation. Leave requests go through self service and a manager approves them in a workflow; the result feeds payroll through an integration.
Codefine helps with
HR process design, organisation setup, workflow automation, payroll integrations and HR reporting.
Dynamics 365 Finance
What this shows. This scene shows how an invoice becomes an approved accounting entry and financial report.
A vendor invoice is registered and approved, posting profiles turn it into ledger entries with financial dimensions, and the result shows up in financial reporting.
Codefine helps with
Chart of accounts and dimension design, approval workflows, posting setup and reconciliation.
Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
What this shows. This scene shows how a requisition becomes a purchase order, receipt and vendor invoice.
A purchase requisition is approved and becomes a purchase order to a vendor. Goods arrive with a product receipt, and the vendor invoice is matched against order and receipt.
Codefine helps with
Requisition and approval workflows, vendor integrations, matching policies and receiving processes.
Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
What this shows. This scene shows how a production order moves through BOM, operations, quality and finished goods.
A production order built from a bill of materials and a route consumes components, runs its operations at work centres, passes a quality check and is reported as finished goods.
Codefine helps with
BOM and route design, production control setup, shop floor integrations and costing.
Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
What this shows. This scene shows how ERP data becomes reporting models, KPIs and management insight.
Posted F&O tables are exported to a data lake or Fabric, shaped once in a semantic model, and turned into the measures and reports management actually reads.
Codefine helps with
Data path selection, semantic model design, report build and reconciliation against F&O.

Dynamics 365 Finance
Customer invoicing, payments and collections. It turns shipped orders into open customer transactions and settles them when cash arrives.

Vendor invoices, matching and payments. It is where purchasing meets cash outflow, and where three-way match rules are enforced.

Dynamics 365 Human Resources (now part of the Finance and Operations apps)
Employees, positions and the organisation they belong to, plus leave, benefits and performance. It is the source of who works where, under which manager and in which legal entity.

Purchase requisitions, purchase orders and vendor agreements. It controls what is bought, from whom and at what price.

Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
Quotations, sales orders, prices and discounts. The sales order is the start of order-to-cash and drives reservations, warehouse work and invoicing.

On-hand stock, inventory dimensions and costing. Every receipt and issue becomes an inventory transaction, and those transactions drive cost of goods sold.

Production orders, bills of materials and routes. It consumes components, reports finished goods and collects the costs of making them.
